Welcome to Bulgarian Life Website this site is dedicated to my sweetheart, my wife, my soulmate,my lover and my very best friend Karen who died on the 8th April 2010 in Bulgaria, We had a wonderful dream which we had been enjojing for nearly nine months when sadly she was taken from us all

She was a person with many qualities that endeared her to everyone she met, she was funny, showed interest in everyone she met and was the life and soul of a party always sitting there with her wonderful smile.

I will miss her so much as our nine months in Bulgaria meant we were together every day and we went everywhere together and everything we did was shared, she would come and look at all the little jobs I had done however small.

She has left a big gap not only in mine but in many peoples lives.

She had started a blog on this website which I will finish for her and entitle the last entry "The end of a perfect dream "

Visitors to Bulgaria are often surprised by the many diverse and stunning areas of natural beauty there are. For years a real effort has been made in order to preserve the country’s rich and unspoilt areas. Bulgaria is ecologically one of the purest countries in Europe, with exceptionally clear air and water resources.
There are 7 national parks and more than 3000 protected natural sites and 17 bio-spherical reserves (the greatest recorded number in Europe). There are also 419 protected animal species and 63 protected types of plant.
Bulgarians have a number of different traditional ceremonies, festivals and holidays. There are events dated centuries back, combining pagan with orthodox and folk elements. The Kukeri Festival is celebrated on 11 January in the region of the towns of Pernik and Dupnitsa. The participants, named Kukeri, wear traditional masks and costumes and perform ancient dances to drive away the evil spirits. Similar festivals take place at other parts of the country like the Rodopi and Strandja mountains.

A total of EUR 30 million will be invested in building the facilities, one located near Varna and the other near Balchik, according to Tsonko Tsonev, mayor of the Black Sea town of Kavarna. They are huge developments, with villas, apartments, shops, marinas etc. Gary Player has been reported as saying that the golf courses will meet the worlds highest standards. Please see our feature on our site about the Gary Player Complex near balchik.
